Biography

Phil is a dynamic and highly sought-after comedian known for his ability to entertain audiences in the most unexpected places. From a scout hut in the Shetland Isles to a cabin on Mount Alice in the Falkland Islands, Phil’s comedic journey has taken him to weird and wonderful locations, showcasing his willingness to go anywhere for a laugh.

Phil’s comedy career began on the challenging holiday park circuit, performing for renowned venues like Butlins. Seeking new horizons, he made a pivotal decision to change direction, leading him to make his mark on the Comedy Club scene. In 2002, Phil’s talent was recognized when he was voted City Life Comedian of the Year at the famous Comedy Store in Manchester, joining the ranks of previous winners such as Peter Kay and Steve Coogan.

As a headline act, Phil has graced the stages of leading comedy clubs across the country, including Jongleurs, The Stand, The Last Laugh, The Frog and Bucket, Komedia, and Laughter Lounge Dublin. His international performances have taken him to Sensatori hotels’ Comedy Cellar and cruise ships with Carnival. Phil’s passion for comedy is further demonstrated through his own club, “Woofers,” located in his hometown of Lytham, Lancashire. For the past four years, he has brought some of the UK’s finest talents to the Fylde coast, including the likes of Jason Manford.

Phil’s versatility extends to family-friendly shows, as he recently began presenting “Phil Walker’s Comedy for Kids” at Preston Guild Hall, where he has garnered a dedicated fan base through his Pantomime appearances. His Edinburgh Festival debut in 2012 earned critical acclaim, with his show “Is this it?” receiving four-star reviews.

Beyond his stand-up career, Phil has made significant contributions as a voice-over artist, lending his talents to various projects such as “The Oddkinsons,” Manchester United, “Dancing with the Stars,” and Tizer. He has also made a mark in the world of Pantomime, boasting an impressive record of 18 productions to date. Phil’s involvement as a writer, director, and actor in Preston Guild Hall’s Charter Theatre productions, including “Sleeping Beauty,” “Jack & the Beanstalk,” “Aladdin,” and “Cinderella,” have garnered five-star reviews and even broken box office records.
