Biography

In early 2008, Alex Boardman earned a prestigious nomination in the Rising Star category at the Sony Awards for his stellar contributions to the Galaxy FM breakfast show. His work on the show propelled it to record-breaking figures, becoming the most successful show in the station’s decade-long history. Despite this triumph, a change of ownership prompted Alex to return full-time to his first love: stand-up comedy.

In 2007, Alex embarked on his inaugural solo stand-up tour titled “Hit The North,” a nod to the beloved song by The Fall. This tour, blending stand-up with improvisation, graced arts centers across the UK and garnered favorable critical reviews. Alex’s comedic talents further shone as he took the stage at numerous comedy festivals nationwide. Notably, he presented two one-hour shows: “Nappy Mondays,” chronicling his journey from “Lad to Dad,” and “Everyone thinks he looks daft,” inspired by yet another cherished song, this time by The Wedding Present. Both shows earned acclaim from critics and audiences alike.

Despite any speculation, it’s worth noting that Alex Boardman is not related to Stan Boardman, a clarification that often arises due to their shared surname. As Alex continues to leave audiences in stitches with his sharp wit and relatable humor, his contributions to the comedy scene remain both memorable and impactful.
