Biography

Andy’s journey in the comedy world began with his work as a writer, contributing to renowned shows such as Weekending and Smith and Jones. However, it was his involvement as one of the main writers on the groundbreaking satire series Spitting Image that truly showcased his talent and set the stage for his illustrious career.

Transitioning from behind the scenes to the forefront of comedy, Andy emerged as a formidable performer, gracing numerous radio and TV shows with his wit and charm. His appearances on iconic programs like Live at the Apollo, QI, and The Comedy Store solidified his status as a comedic force to be reckoned with. Andy’s versatility shone through in his diverse range of performances, from panel shows like They Think It’s All Over to his own stand-up specials.

In recognition of his comedic prowess, Andy was honored with the Time Out Comedy Award in 2002, a testament to his impact on the comedy landscape. This acclaim paved the way for international success, as he embarked on tours across the globe, from the prestigious Montreal and Kilkenny comedy festivals to captivating audiences in Australia and New Zealand.

Despite his busy schedule, Andy remained committed to his craft, embarking on three sell-out National tours that further solidified his status as a beloved comedian. In 2009, he ventured into the world of comedy specials with the release of his debut DVD Britain’s Got Idiots, followed by Gruntled in 2011, showcasing his ability to connect with audiences both on stage and on screen.
