A little more about Joseph Emslie, he is a comedian, writer, and actor from Stratford-Upon-Avon, now resides in South West London. Since starting his career in 2016, Joseph has become a prominent figure on the comedy circuit, known as the go-to gluten-free comic. His conversational, anecdotal, and often self-deprecating style has earned him early acclaim, including being the runner-up in the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2021. Bruce Dessau from Beyond The Joke described him as “definitely a name to keep tabs on.” At the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019, Joseph’s work-in-progress show, In Bread with Joseph Emslie, was a sell-out success and was featured on the front page of The Scotsman.
Rather than slowing down during the pandemic, Joseph grew his TikTok following to over 15,000, with more than 1 million views and nearly half a million likes across his videos. He also co-hosts the comedy podcast BillyJoeMates, where comedians revisit a school subject of their choice.
